Summary

In 2007, AB started campaigns in Cabrera, on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic (DR), on the impoverished
have also started vet training and humane education programs. In September 2010, we will be conducting a training
session in spay and Esterilsol techniques for Dominican Vets in Santo Domingo, Santiago and San Francisco. The
training is in conjunction with the Anti Rabies Center of the DR, Rabies Alliance of the US, Ark Sciences, Illinois
University and the Alliance for Contraception in Cats and Dogs. The goal is to train the Dominican vets so that the
government has the capacity to organize high volume sterilization and rabies vaccination clinics to control the
populations and spread of Rabies, rather than conduct round up and kill operations. In October, Animal Balance will
be holding a large scale, high volume, sterilization campaign in Cabrera and the vets from the training will attend and
be shown how to organize large scale campaigns.
